Glaumur

My little sister’s life completely revolves around horses. She was deeply attached to her beloved Glaumur, who passed away some time ago. For a long time, she wanted a portrait of him, but I didn't feel ready to take on the challenge. Eventually, I decided to take the leap and surprised her with this painting as a Christmas gift in 2023.

It was a welcome challenge that pushed me far outside my comfort zone—forcing me to experiment, try new things, and learn a whole lot along the way. I used every photo she had of him as a reference to find the perfect pose, and the result is Glaumur, running free through the fields.

“I’m incredibly happy with it, it warmed my heart,” my sister said—which, in turn, warmed mine.
