Where is my mind

Gamvik Museum, Brodtkorbhuset
Gamvik Norway 27. July 2026

In my exhibition “Where is My Mind,” I capture the overwhelming feeling of a mind filled with obstacles. Whether it is inner noise—like a song lyric playing on repeat at full volume—or a thick fog settling over the brain, this mental clutter can make it hard to hear your own thoughts or find the right words.

This exhibition builds upon the themes of my previous show, “Heilaþoka” (Brain Fog), but represents an exciting shift in my artistic journey. While the original "Brain Fog" exhibition consisted entirely of acrylic paintings, I have expanded my practice for this show, working with a completely different medium: linocut and hand-printed artworks, which will be available for purchase at the exhibition.

The collection speaks directly to my experiences as a middle-aged woman navigating menopause, brain fog, and burnout—yet doing my best to find the beauty in it, make a positive impact, and, most importantly, enjoy and have fun in life.

I am an Icelandic artist who moved to Gamvik a year ago. Currently, I live with one foot in Iceland and the other in Norway, but I have fallen in love with this area and envision settling down here. For me, the raw and powerful nature surrounding Gamvik is a vital source of energy and inspiration. I am so proud and joyful to present this exhibition in Gamvik, representing the spirit of the town as a truly "creative fishing village."
